Weekend Wrap Up

We spent most of this weekend indoors as it's just frigid here. I'm not sure about you all, but I am so ready for spring. Thankfully, I'm heading to FL for business in about two weeks, I can't wait to thaw out.

On Saturday we did venture outside for a little to play with the dogs. Our older lab is starting to develop arthritis and running outside proved to be too much for him. When we came inside he was limping around. I did call the vet and get him some meds on Saturday and he went into today. Below is a photo of him sitting on his bed, he stayed there most the weekend, poor guy.

I made chili and we had a cozy day watching the playoffs on Sunday. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I have gotten more into the NFL this season. At work we've been doing an NFL pool so now I have a vested interest in watching to see who wins. Lucky for me my team is still in and heading to the super bowl. Go Pats!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and kept warm.

Thankfulness and Other Thoughts

I missed Thankful Thursday yesterday, it has just been a stressful week. However, I am so thankful for many things.

For a wonderful Husband and family. I am so thankful for you all.

To have a warm home and soft bed to go to each night.

We are experiencing very cold weather here and it just make me so upset to think of people actually living outside in this. Additionally, I feel bad for all the animals out there without proper shelter, truly it breaks my heart. Each night before I go to bed I thank God for all my blessings as I know there are so many out there who are struggling.

I have also been thinking about the state of our world. It just seems like there is so much uncertainly out there. Perhaps I'll share my thoughts on that in another post.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and keep warm.

Weekend Wrap Up

We had another quiet weekend. Work has been really busy the last month so I've enjoyed having some down time at home. I did some cooking, worked out...and of course cleaned! As I said on my New Year post I was going to eat better and work out more I am happy to report I am still on board with this and finally starting see some results. I still do like to have dessert every now and then so I use the No Pudge Brownie Mix. I buy this at Trader Joe's. I think it's really good and Hubby will even eat them. Another healthy change I've been doing for sometime now is incorporating whole wheat pasta. I especially like to do this when I make my vegetable lasagna. I promise you can't tell the difference in the pasta. Ok, that's all I have for today. If anyone has some great tips/recipes to share I'd love hear them.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for:

My husband who puts up with me. I tend to be a little OCD with keeping the house clean and germ free, which I'm sure can be annoying.

Our 3 month LID anniversary.

The ability to work from home when it's needed. Yesterday I wasn't feeling the best so it was so nice to work from the comfort of the house.

My iPod - when I'm listening to great music I tend to work out longer, which will hopefully get me in better shape.

Today is our three month LID anniversary! It's a small step in the process, but one closer to our daughter!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was very nice and relaxing. I'm not sure about you all, but after all the holiday activities it's nice to slow down again. On Saturday I went to a friend's baby shower, it was a great time and I have to say the games we played were actually fun. Then on Saturday evening Hubby and I went to our favorite sushi restaurant...I love sushi and could probably eat several times a week. Today has been a very relaxing day and to be honest I haven't done much, but a little cooking. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I am excited for 2008 even though I know this year we won’t get our daughter. I have a few personal goals this year. I wouldn’t call them resolutions, just things I’d like to accomplish. One of my main goals this year is to become more healthy (and lose a few pounds), I do exercise regularly, but now that I’m over 30 I’ve got to do more. So now with all the holiday goodies gone, I am focusing on more exercise and smarter food choices. I am sure I’m not alone on this one. Additionally, I want to be more organized with my time. I feel like I’m always rushed and usually late for everything, so this year I want to work on this. See my new planner below; hopefully, this will help to keep me better organized. With all of my goals I have this year, I’ve realized blogging each night is not going to get me there, so this year I am going to cut back from posting and reading. I’ll still be around, but am going to limit my time on the computer. Here’s to a great 2008 and hopefully lots of referrals.

**Thanks Danielle for my new blog look, I love it!
